TEXAS CASTLE
Looking for a royal getaway without the royal budget? Look no further than Newman’s Castle in Bellville, TX. This place is located centrally between Austin and Houston. Hidden behind trees and off back roads, you would never expect such a regal structure, and you will be delightfully surprised.
Not only can you go to visit, but they also host birthday parties, weddings, wine tastings and more! We highly suggest you make a road trip out of it and go to Bellville this summer.

Tickets:
In order to visit the castle, you must call ahead to reserve your spot. You will arrive to Bellville and meet at King Neman’s bakery. There you will pay for the tickets and possibly have a yummy treat. (I highly suggest the cherry danish, it was delicious!) To call and reserve your tickets, dial 979-865-9804.
On the day of the tour check in at Newman’s Bakery at 504 E. Main St. by 10:30am. At the bakery they will give you your ticket and directions to the Castle. Be sure to be there on time and don’t forget to call ahead.

The Castle Tour:
The tour of Newman’s Castle takes approximately 2 hours for you to enjoy, but of course you are free to stay longer. Once you arrive, you have some time to take your instagram worthy pictures outside. Then you will be welcomed by the King himself. He does a Knighting ceremony for all kids before starting.
He then proceeds to tell the story behind the Castle and even demonstrate a live action catapult. This all took about 30 minutes before we even went inside, so do be prepared for that.
From there the entrance was lowered and we all charged inside to see what laid behind the Castle walls. There is a gorgeous dining room, a torturous dungeon, small chapel, bell tower, and more to enjoy. There are lots of stairs to these areas, so I do suggest wearing comfortable shoes.
If you are traveling with a baby like we did, be advised that it is not stroller friendly. I got my workout in by carrying him up some narrow stairs for sure that day.
Lunch is provided. If you book this tour, then you will be provided with a sandwich lunch, tea or water, and some yummy treats from his bakery. I did not know this ahead of time, so it was a pleasant surprise. It is come and go, so you can grab it on your own time. They have places to sit inside, or you can take it outside if the weather is nice like it was for us.

Visit Bellville!
Newman’s Castle is something to experience, especially if you are road tripping near the Houston or Austin area. I mean who doesn’t want to feel like a Knight or Princess for the day?! It is great to dress up and get pictures at as well. The outside is gorgeous and something to see, plus there is so much more to do in Bellville, so it is worth the trip!
We spent the entire day, after we left the Castle, walking around, going to museums, eating, shopping and even got a horse and carriage ride. We will be doing a blog about the city soon, but for now, start planning your upcoming day trip to see Newman’s Castle. 🙂
