Lucky Land is truly a hidden gem of Houston. From the moment you walk up to the entrance, you are immersed with Chinese history and culture. It is the closest you can get to China without having to leave the city! We loved this place, especially right now since we can’t travel, this was the closest thing! They have history, food, picture opportunities, a coy pond, and even a panda village! Here are my favorite things about Lucky Land!

History:
From the Great Wall of China, to the Terra Cotta army statues, to the Kung Fu statues and more, this place is full of history. Take your time and walk around as you learn a little more about Chinese history and feel like you are a part of it! In case I never make it to China, at least I can still say I walked the Great Wall… sort of, ha!
Panda Village:
No they’re not real pandas, but they are real cute! They have a whole area that has a bunch of adorable pandas for you to check out and get your pictures with! I mean how can you not love that?!

Coy Pond:
This is something the kids will LOVE! You get to feed the coy fish. There are so many too, it’s really cool (and a little scary) to see them all come up and fight for the food. Be sure to spread the love and not throw it all in one place!
Picture opportunities:
This place is gorgeous!! The detail put into every single section will obviously make for immaculate photos, but they also have backdrops made for you. I love the flower hearts, kings chair and the sunflower room! You will love them too! Also getting photos on the bridges and the Great Wall will make your friends think you hopped a flight to China for the afternoon.
Kung Fu Section:
There is an entire section dedicated to the art of Kung Fu. There are statues in all different kinds of poses. We loved this area and may have had a little too much fun hitting our own poses and jumping into our own version of Kung Fu poses. Don’t miss out on the fun!
Transformers:
If you are a fan of the Transformers movies, then there is an extra special surprise for you awaiting at Lucky Land! Lucky Land has all your favorite Transformer replicas! They are huge and life like, well as life like as robots can be. If Transformers aren’t technically robots, sue me, I only saw the movie for Shia LaBeouf 😉 This is a lot of fun though and something you will want to get some photos of!

Important information:
They do sell food on the weekends, so go and check it out! Currently due to COVID they are only open Saturday and Sunday from 10-4, but be sure to keep checking their schedule online.

The staff was extremely friendly and took the time out of their day to talk to us and make the experience even better! We highly suggest you go and make an afternoon of it! You will be so glad you did! They also suggested we come back for Chinese New Year because they have a big celebration. We will definitely be attending that and hope to see you there!
