Blessington Farms

It’s our favorite season, fall! And it is finally beginning to feel like fall in Houston, which means it’s time for our favorite fall activities. Other than stocking up on all the pumpkin spice we can get our hands on and setting up a bonfire date with friends, we have to do the classic pumpkin patch festivities! I’ve been to pumpkin patches before and gotten the cute photos, but nothing compared to what we experienced at Blessington Farm! I give this place a 10/10 review! If you are looking for great family pictures or just a place to take your kids and let them play for a few hours, this is it! I will be coming back every year, and here are the reasons why…

Pictures:

I had to start with this one, because it’s honestly the reason I went in the first place and I’m not afraid to admit it! I expected to get maybe one or two good photos and to wait in line to do so, but that was not the case! I mean not to brag on my little family, but we got SO MANY cute photos. I had to cut some from my Instagram post since they cap you at 10. And there were NO lines. Like for anything, even though it was busy! They have a whole section of photo props set up for you. They had to have at least 20 patches of hay with pumpkins and other backdrops for you to get your photos with. You will not be disappointed with how they turn out. I’ll include a lot of them at throughout this blog, but know that I have even more on my camera roll. As you know, we recently had our baby boy, so this meant a lot to me to get our first family photo! How cute is our little pumpkin?! 😍

Pumpkin buying:

I figured our adorable pumpkin is a good Segway into the next thing you can do at Blessington Farms, which is buy pumpkins! They range in price, depending on the size, but they are cheap! You will pay less than buying them at your local store or market, and you have way more to choose from. They have the classic big orange pumpkins, as well as the small white and green pumpkins. Take some home for your fall decorum or to carve out some family time. (See what I did there, carve pumpkins/carve family time, I’m on one haha)

Activities:

So we actually went with our baby, but at 2 months he couldn’t enjoy much. We also went with my sister and nephews who are 2 and 3 years old and they had the time of their lives!! We literally had to pull them away, poor babies. They have huge slides, a jumbo trampoline, tire rolling, water pumping, and even live animals. One of my nephews could have sat and splashed water all day and would have been fine, but the other nephew took full advantage of all the fun activities! There were so many more than I even listed, which is why you truly could come out and spend an entire afternoon here. You will get your money’s worth, and an early bed time for the kids that night! The animals they had for kids to see ranged from chickens, to goats, to reptiles, peacocks and even camels!! That wasn’t just for the kids, I was pretty impressed myself! The animals were well behaved and the kids were able to pet them, and so were the adults. I could go on and on about all the activities they have here at Blessington Farms, but I will let you find out for yourself when you go.

Food:

They do have two food trucks on site that you can purchase food from. There is a Mexican food truck where you can get tacos or quesadillas. There is also a kid friendly food truck where you can get your classic chicken nuggets and fries. Both trucks accept card or cash. I do suggest you bring cash though, because there is a stand that sells ice cream and drinks, but they only accept cash. It’s quick, and no wait, so it would be easier for you to grab something and keep moving. The best part about Blessington Farms that I didn’t know ahead of time is that you can bring your own food! We saw people with coolers full of snacks and drinks, and y’all it’s genius! I highly suggest you do this if you are going because the day can get long and you already spend a bit of money to go in, so don’t spend more than you have to.

*2 and under are free though! Tickets can be purchased before online or when you arrive in person. If you buy online it goes really fast, as they take your tickets and hand you wristbands as you’re walking up. I’ll put their website below.

It’s a bit of a drive outside of the city, but so worth it! We live in Richmond, so it took us only 15 or so minutes, but be prepared for a drive if you don’t live on the west side of Houston.

It is stroller friendly and if you are there to purchase pumpkins they have plenty of wheelbarrows and wagons for you to borrow.

I have zero complaints about our time at Blessington Farms, other than the Houston weather had me sweating by the afternoon. If you are looking for amazing fall photos or just a great way to spend an afternoon with the kids, then Blessington Farms is the place to be! You will have so much fun and create life time memories.
