Best Museums For Kids & Adults In Barcelona 2022

Two of the best museums for children in Barcelona. There are a lot of picture opportunities here and a lot of Big Fun.

BIG FUN AND ILLUSIONS MUSEUMS

If you are looking for BIG FUN while on your trip to Barcelona, then look no further than the Big Fun Museum. V and I had a blast here and took so many exciting pictures. This place is great for the family, or adults like us looking for something new to do.

When you go to the Big Fun Museum right on Las Ramblas, you can actually buy a package for $15 OR you can also go to the Museum of Illusions for $5 more. If purchased separately, you will spend $25, so this options saves you a few bucks. I definitely say you do both, the fun we had and the pictures we took are our favorite photos from this Barcelona trip.

Below I will tell you about all of the rooms at the Big Fun Museum, as well as include addresses to both museums so you can go here on your next trip. 🙂 Feel free to use any of the poses you see below or comment for questions.

BIG FUN MUSEUM: LEVEL ONE

Level one to the Big Fun Museum is all about the abnormal, or as I like to think of it, the EXTRA-ordinary. This is Ripley’s Believe It or Not level. Here you will see things such as the smallest woman ever, the biggest nose, the tiniest car, and so much more. You literally have to see it to believe it… and even then you won’t be so sure.

I think I just realized why it is named “Believe it or not….” With this level is also the Museum of Madness. This has some items that may be a little creepy for some kids (torture devices from the past and things like that) so you may opt to start at level two, but if you aren’t nervous then I say go for it. It’s a little surreal to see what humans can come up with.

We did not take pictures on this level because, well, it wasn’t very photo opp friendly, but it was very interesting to see. Now, on to level two…

Address: Big Fun Museum, Rambla de Sant Josep, 88, 94, 08002 Barcelona, Spain

BIG FUN MUSEUM: LEVEL TWO

The next level is called The Giant’s House and this was such a FUN room! I had too much fun sitting in the huge vault surrounded by money, or trying on the giant’s shoes, and even trying to open their giant bottle of wine (which sounds pretty good right about now…)

You feel so small in this room and I am not sure why big items excite me this much, but it did! I think you and the kids will truly have a blast exploring this level. Below are some of my favorite pictures we captured.

BIG FUN MUSEUM: LEVEL THREE

The third level is every little girl’s (and I’m not afraid to say my) dream come true. This level is known as the Sweet Museum, and it is just that! It is like a dessert/unicorn/fairy tale land full of pink and purple goodness.

I am pretty sure I am still 11 years old at heart some times… This is your cute picture opportunity that makes you feel like you are in a fantasy world. I had way too much fun in this level and I know you will too.

I have been to the Ice Cream Pop Up shop in Miami before, and this reminded me of that. Your girls will be racing to get to this level, and hey maybe your boys too.

BIG FUN MUSEUM: LEVEL FOUR

The fourth and final level to the Big Fun Museum is called the Topsy-Turvy House. Everything is flipped upside down and makes for AMAZING photos. When you look at the pictures it seems like you are upside down… so your friends will be impressed!

This was V’s favorite room out of all the levels and I feel like the pictures speak for them self. It was a blast, but I am not going to lie, it took us a minute to get the hang of hanging upside down… see what I did there?! 😉

They do have pictures on the side of the wall giving you suggestions on how to pose, and of course as always, feel free to borrow mine!

MUSEUM OF ILLUSIONS

If you leave the Big Fun Museum and walk for about five minutes, you will arrive at the Museum of Illusions. I will provide the address below, but they also give you a map that is easy to follow at the Big Fun Museum. I know that I like all of them, but we LOVED this museum.

The artists who paint these are truly talented. They help you create 3D photographs out of their paintings on the wall. You are going to love the different photo opportunities you get from this one place. It was so hard to narrow it down to a few favorites, but if you check out our instagram, you will find even more.

This place as well provides descriptions on where to stand in order to get the best picture for you. I really think that if you have the time, you should go to both museums, you will not be disappointed.

Address: Carrer del Pintor Fortuny, 17, 08001 Barcelona, Spain

The Big Fun Museum and Museum of Illusions are too much fun to not do on your next trip to Barcelona. Especially if you are like us and have been here before and want something new to do or if you are traveling with kids and want to take them to a Museum they will actually be interested in, this is the place for YOU! Let me know below if you have any questions. 🙂
